No matter how exquisite or the simplicity of a word or phrase
It’s something that can either knock you off your feet or
bring you back to life
We exercise our freedom of expression with only slight
awareness of all possible perspectives
Not all that is written can truly reveal how we feel, but
it’s a start of where we stand
The emotional connection of an author’s persona could either
weaken or strengthen your awareness
Does one feel more open and real when you are transparent or
do you feel modest and confused?
We live in a place of criticism, boxed ideas and arguments
that have the stability of a single legged stool
How do you determine the appropriate time or place to speak
out, when no one is willing to listen
Do you scream at the top of your lungs or do you stand idly
in the crowd, waiting
Waiting for someone to ask you a reason without feeling
inferior to those whom are your equals
One could potentially combust of worrisome and doubt before
they realize if it was even worth the wait
Or realize society’s cruel mundane idea of reality has
reached its true potential for the blind to grasp.
Standing in the middle of the veil, you see both sides
looking in, what do you say to those who think it’s not real.
How do you state your opinion without sometimes feeling
blunt and inconsiderate when provoked?
Do you ground and hide in the closet, preserving your
misunderstood emotions and colored will
Or do you shield and press on knowing you are fighting for
what you believe
Is it ethically right to stand for ones right in such a
situation or is it morally unacceptable to be opinionated in such a dark time.
Shield and persevere or stand ground and wait, to each their
own.
